KaviTec WHEELS: 29er MTB ZTR Crest

Stans No Tubes je zelo priljubljen na MTB sceni.

Gregor

  1. Dear Gregor
    hello,
I find your blog very interesting because I found a lot of important information about the tensioning and assembling bicycle wheels, also on the effect of inflating the tires on spoke tension.
Can you help me with some information about the correct tension of the spokes, wheels for mtb, my configuration: with ztr crest 29er rims and hubs novatec d712sb and d711sb with spokes dt swiss revolution and pro lock alloy nipless.
That amount would be right for tensioning the spokes of the front and rear wheels?, as each side of each wheel.?
    My best wishes
    Maickol

  2. Hello Maickol. I am glad you like articles
NoTubes Crest has max spoke tension around 110kg.
So on rear DS tension spokes to 110kg, front on disc side 90-100kg will be OK.
Other side tension will be as much as you need to center rim.
If you are using ParkTool tensiometer - my experience is that tensiometer shows to low tension. It will be good to callibrate tensiometer if you have chance.

if you have 32/32 spokes go with 3 cross all sides. Lubricate threads so spokes dont twist.

    Good luck with building

  4. Hello Gregor, thank you very much for your answer, I'll take into account your recommendation about the tensiometer of park tools for I have purchased one so..
With relation to their experience about these rims, you will be durable tension strength of 110 kg.? as in the tension strengt specification is 95 kgf, I do not know if it is the average between the two sides .

    Best regards
    Maickol

  5. Hello Maickol
As i remember when i built CRESTs it was 100kg. With tire pressure tension drops around 10-15%. So you can go with 100kg maximum tension . This is tension on rear DS side . YOu can go with max tension on front DISC side too.
    Regards
    Gregor
